Dear graduate coordinators,

I hope the fall semester is going smoothly for you and your students. I’m reaching out with a few important updates:
  • Recruitment Trainings: The pandemic has presented us with myriad challenges during these past months, including recruiting for our programs. To help address this challenge, we are offering two identical recruitment trainings for graduate coordinators and graduate faculty on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. We hope you can make it to one of them so you and your colleagues can learn more about online recruitment. Please RSVP here for the Sept. 17 training and here for the Sept. 18 training.

  • Graduate College Strategic Plan and Graduate SWOT Analysis: Our team is finalizing our 2020-25 strategic plan and SWOT analysis. We invite you to partner with us on a final review of our strategic plan and SWOT analysis on Friday, Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You should have received a calendar invite for this session; but, if not, please email leslie.hunter@unlv.edu.

  • Degrees Directory Updates: As you may know, Part B of the Degrees Directory pulls information directly from the Graduate Catalog. The new Graduate Catalog was recently completed, but there are delays in updating the information on the Degrees Directory. We’re hoping that the Degrees Directory Part B will be updated soon. In the meantime, if you would like to see your updated program information, please refer to the updated Graduate Catalog.

  • Program Handbooks and Plan of Study Forms: As mentioned in last week’s Graduate Council meeting, we’re actively inserting links into the program handbooks and updating Plan of Study forms Part Two and targeting the completion of this project within two weeks. Please look for updated program handbooks and Plan of Study forms on the Degrees Directory in the near future.

  • Extended Fall 2020 Graduation Deadlines: Like we extended graduation deadlines in spring and summer 2020, we are extending graduation deadlines for fall 2020 to support our students during these challenging times. Please find the updated deadline information below:
