GRAD REBEL MENTOR
December 2018
Checking in with the Graduate & Professional Student Association
My name is Anel Rojas and I am the Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA) business manager and advisor. The GPSA promotes and represents the interests of graduate and professional students at UNLV and provides a variety of professional development and funding opportunities.

One of the most important services the GPSA offers UNLV graduate and professional students is the allocation of funds for graduate and professional research, conference/event travel, and other scholarly activities. This service is intended to provide support for projects that directly affect a student's degree program as well as make a contribution to their discipline.

We hope that you are able to join us at a couple of events in the spring semester to support graduate and professional students! Each year, students present their research at the Graduate & Professional Student Research Forum. The Forum showcases excellence in research from students representing a variety of colleges throughout the campus. This year, the Forum will take place on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. In addition, please join the Graduate College and the GPSA for a celebration of graduate student research and scholarship at the sixth annual Inspiration, Innovation, Impact. This event will take place on Friday, Feb. 22 from 4-6 p.m. to kick off the Graduate Research Forum weekend.

To become involved with the GPSA, graduate and professional students can attend monthly meetings held on the first Monday of each month in Student Union Room 208. For more information, please visit the GPSA website.

Sincerely,

Anel Rojas
