Sept. 2: NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program
11 a.m.-12 p.m., Virtual
Students are invited to learn about the application process and to gain tips on how to secure funding from the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. This event is open to all undergraduates as well as first- and second-year graduate students in the following majors/departments: natural sciences, including geoscience, chemistry, biology, physics and astronomy; math; engineering and computer science;
education fields that focus on STEM education;
social sciences, including psychology, sociology, anthropology, economics, geography, history, philosophy of science, international relations, linguistics, and political science; public or science policy; urban planning; and interdisciplinary health sciences.

Sept. 15: Fall 2021 Student Health Insurance Waiver Deadline
Sept. 15 is the last day to waive out of the fall 2021 health insurance for graduate students!
Students must complete a waiver once every academic year as waivers completed in previous years don't carry over.
If students don't complete a new waiver for the 2021-22 academic year, the charge will remain on their account and they'll be enrolled in the student health insurance.

The Graduate College and the Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA) will host an open house in the Gateway Graduate Commons, where students can drop in between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m for snacks and swag. New graduate students (those who started their program in fall 2020, spring 2021, summer 2021, and fall 2021) can pick up their Grad Rebel T-shirt during this event. Students can also learn about professional development opportunities and meet the Graduate College staff and their GPSA representatives. Learn more.
UNLV's Wellness Zone
As a graduate student, you have access to UNLV's Wellness Zone, a holistic, integrated wellness resource for the UNLV campus community. The Wellness Zone offers targeted wellness programming, certified peer education training, wellness assessments, personal training, and a relaxation room with automated massage chairs. The ideal place to take care of yourself after the first week back to campus, the Wellness Zone is located on the second floor of the Student Recreation and Wellness Center. Learn more.
