Dear Grad Rebels,

We continue to think about you during these times and hope you are doing well.

Below please find a few updates on resources available to you:
  • Our Leadership & Professional Development Academy provides comprehensive leadership, career prep, and professional development opportunities to graduate and professional students. In order to align with your needs and desires in the year ahead – especially considering the challenges we’re facing with COVID-19, pervasive social injustice, and the economic crisis – we are asking you to please complete a quick survey to share your thoughts on the type of offerings that you’d find most helpful. Your responses are anonymous unless you decide to participate in our scholarship drawing for one of 15, $100 fall scholarships. For a chance at winning, complete the survey and provide your name, email, and NSHE ID. We will contact you after the drawing if you win. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on how we can best support your professional development.

  • The Graduate College, UNLV Counseling and Psychological Services, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Northern Nevada are hosting a webinar that informs and supports family members and friends who have loved ones with a mental health condition. The webinar, which will take place on June 24 from 3:30-5 p.m., will provide an opportunity to connect with individuals with shared experiences, reduce mental health stigma, and provide resources for additional support. Learn more and RSVP.

  • Our Leadership & Professional Development Academy is offering several workshops remotely this summer. We hope you’ll take advantage of the following and check our Student Calendar for additional opportunities:

  • The Graduate & Professional Student Association is accepting applications until July 15 for its Student Researcher Award Program, which assists students in purchasing research materials, presenting their work at conferences, and supporting the completion of their degree program. Learn more.

  • We continue to offer thesis/dissertation office hours every Tuesday and Thursday from 12-2 p.m. You can email grad.td@unlv.edu at least 48 hours in advance to schedule a time to meet online.
Please reach out with any questions or if there’s anything we can do to assist you.

Please take care,
