On-Campus Employment
Many of you have found on-campus employment and we are excited you have! If you haven’t, learn more on Handshake through your FlashLine account. We wanted to pass on a few reminders to help you maintain your status.
-
You are not permitted to work more than 20 hours per week while class is in session.
-
During the breaks (summer, winter, and spring), KSU policy allows you to work up to 28 hours.
-
Hours are not calculated in each job, but all jobs combined. If you have multiple jobs, the total hours are not allowed to surpass 20 or 28 hours/week, depending on whether classes are in session.
-
Lastly, for students on a J-1 visa, you need to discuss any and all on-campus employment with ISSS before starting so that we can update your DS-2019.
Don't work too hard, but have a bit of fun and stay in status!

Showcase Your Country at a Cultural Café!
The Office of Global Education is currently scheduling cultural cafes for the 2019- 2020 academic year (fall and spring). Would you like to showcase your culture?
How do Cultural Cafés work?
Any member of the KSU community can sign up to showcase their culture. Presentations are diverse and can include history, highlights, and information about interesting people, places, or things. They can include music, dance, games, discussion, and more - it's up to you!
Did we mention that there is food? Our Cultural Café coordinator will work with you and with Dining Services to prepare two traditional foods enjoyed by your culture (an entrée and a dessert).
Are you interested in presenting or learning more? Contact Angelia Zielke at azielke_stu@kent.edu.
