Dear Grad Rebels,

I’m reaching out during this unusual and difficult time to provide resources, information, and support to help you persist and thrive despite the circumstances in which we find ourselves. As you know from President Meana and EVP&P Heavey’s messaging, all face-to-face instruction will move online effective March 23, and will likely continue as such for the remainder of the semester. Our UNLV campus, including the Graduate College, remains open and operational.

We realize that you probably have some questions about services, processes, deadlines, and what to expect for the remainder of the semester. To help you navigate, we’ve prepared a webpage with information and guidance. You can find our Temporary Accommodations for COVID-19 page here, and I encourage you to check back frequently as we will be updating it regularly to keep you informed during this fluid and evolving situation.

Additional targeted messaging from the Graduate College will be distributed via email to specific groups of students, to provide specific information as needed. Please also regularly visit the university’s coronavirus webpage to stay abreast of information and developments on campus.

Questions about special accommodations, issues, deadlines, or other matters related to Graduate College guidance in response to the COVID-19 situation should be directed to gradcollege@unlv.edu. Using one email instead of directing messages to individual staff members will help us funnel inquiries to the right team and respond to you more quickly. You may also call us at 702-895-3320 or visit us in person during standard office hours, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the new University Gateway building.

Though we do not know all the questions that will arise or have all the right answers yet, I want you to know that the well-being of our Grad Rebels is our North Star. We will continue to work hard to address new challenges in ways that support your progression and completion, promote student success, and assist our Grad Rebel community.

We know that with patience, empathy, flexibility, and a calm approach, we will come through this challenge together as a stronger and more resilient graduate community.

Please take care, be well, and stay healthy. Reach out with any questions; we’re here to help.

Warmly,
Dean Korgan & the Graduate College team
