Hello fall 2020 graduate assistants,

We hope you are doing well, despite these trying times.

As we prepare for the fall 2020 semester, please remember that the minimum enrollment required for graduate assistants is 6 graduate-level credits. As of today, you have not enrolled in the minimum graduate-level credits required to maintain GA eligibility for the fall 2020 semester. In order to remain eligible for your GA position this upcoming semester, you must enroll in 6 graduate-level credits by Aug. 1, 2020. If you do not enroll in the minimum number of graduate-level credits by Aug. 1, 2020, this may result in the revocation of your graduate assistantship and we do not want to see that happen. Please note, this deadline does not impact your ability to change courses once enrolled. Once you are registered in the required 6 graduate credits, you may switch classes as needed.

Per the Graduate Assistant Handbook, “Graduate assistants must carry a minimum of 6 graduate credit hours for each Fall and Spring semester. Audited or undergraduate courses will not be counted toward the 6 credit minimum requirement. Failure to remain in 6 graduate credit hours for a grade will result in the termination of the graduate assistantship contract. An overload petition must be approved by the department chair and Graduate Dean for credit loads in excess of 18 credit hours. Credit hours must be taken in residence to maintain GA eligibility unless an official consortium has been approved.”
