A Message from
Dean Kate Korgan

About a year ago, we began to notice that fellowships weren’t clearly defined across campus, that different fellows were getting different benefits, and that we weren’t tracking and reporting fellowship awards well as a campus. So, we set out to work with the Foundation to identify existing fellowships, clarify the definition of fellowships, explicitly differentiate them from scholarships, and define the benefits awarded to UNLV graduate fellows.

Inspiration, Innovation, Impact
At the sixth annual Inspiration, Innovation, Impact event on Feb. 22, an alumnus, graduate students, and the UNLV Marimba Band presented and performed, showcasing graduate student research, scholarship, and creative activity. HELPFUL RESOURCES
Publicizing Thesis and Dissertation Defenses
Please remember that thesis and dissertation defenses are public and must be advertised (date, time, location) on campus. Instructions on how students can announce their defense can be found here. All defenses must be publicized through the Graduate College two weeks prior to the defense.
Graduate Faculty Leaving Form
Please remember that upon leaving the university, all Graduate Faculty members are required to complete a Leaving Form. This form allows Graduate Faculty to retain some Graduate Faculty responsibilities after their departure from UNLV if their request to do so is supported by their department/school, college dean, and graduate dean. This process also helps ensure that all current Graduate Advisory Committee, research, and mentoring commitments are fulfilled or appropriate replacements are assigned.
