Jan. 27: Graduate Student Mentor Applications for CSUN/GPSA Student Mentorship Cooperative Due
The Student Mentorship Co-Op pairs undergraduate students with graduate student mentors in their related field of study. This program helps expand the career goals, career and professional development, and overall academic success within our student body. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in mentoring undergraduate students, whether that be within academics, research, or professional development. Graduate students interested in being a mentor in spring 2021 can
apply here. If you know any undergraduate students interested in being a mentee, they can apply here. Applications are due by Jan. 27, 5 p.m. PT.
Jan. 31: GPSA Student & Faculty Awards
Each year, the Graduate & Professional Student Association recognizes a variety of students and faculty from across disciplines and classifications at UNLV for their contributions to the development and continued growth of the university. The awards are: GPSA Outstanding Mentor Award, GPSA Service Award, GPSA Merit Award, and GPSA Distinguished Contribution Award. The deadline for nominations is Sunday, Jan. 31. Feb. 15: 23rd Annual Graduate & Professional Student Research Forum - Call for Presenters
Each spring semester, the Graduate & Professional Student Research Forum showcases the excellence in research conducted at the graduate student level. Using a conference-style format, students present their work through posters or oral presentations evaluated by faculty judges. Session winners are granted monetary awards and support to advance their research. The Forum will be hosted virtually and is open to all graduate and professional students. Awards are available to UNLV graduate and professional students. For more information, contact

Join the Graduate College for a panel with Latinx UNLV faculty. During this panel you will hear
about their academic journey, their experiences during/after graduate school,
and overall consejos.
As part of its Latinx Virtual Speaker Series, the Graduate College will host Dr. Clelia O. Rodríguez for a workshop during which she will share her academic journey, teach ways to decolonize academia, and engage in dialogue on issues related to people of color entering academia.
March 2-3: #RebelsGive 2021
The Graduate College will participate in #RebelsGive, UNLV's annual giving day, on March 2 and 3. As in years past, the Graduate College's focus will be on raising money to support graduate students at UNLV. Please watch for more information about how you can get involved through a flexible and virtual 5K. Run 5K races routinely? This one will be for you! Don't run at all? This one will still be for you!
