Dear graduate students,
I hope you are enjoying a relaxing, restorative summer break.
I'm reaching out with a few important updates:
- COVID-19 Updates: The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) has adopted the CDC’s guidance, issued last week, permitting people who are fully vaccinated to stop wearing masks in most environments. Anyone who is not fully vaccinated must continue to wear a mask. Masks are optional for those who are fully vaccinated.
NSHE also has directed institutions to comply with and follow their county’s guidelines related to social distancing, events and gatherings, and capacity in outdoor and indoor spaces. Clark County announced this week it will suspend all restrictions on gatherings, remove social distancing requirements, and restore spaces and events to full capacity beginning June 1.
Courses for the summer and fall will be offered in the mode currently scheduled (e.g. in person or remote).
UNLV continues to strongly encourage all students, faculty and staff to get their COVID-19 vaccination at UNLV or another location.
Questions can be submitted to coronavirus@unlv.edu.
- S/U Grading: The Nevada System of Higher Education has authorized UNLV to provide the option for Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) grading for the spring 2021 semester.
Instructors submitted final course letter grades for spring 2021 by Tuesday, May 18. Once letter grades are posted in MyUNLV, students will be permitted to submit a petition to change the grading basis to S/U for any or all spring 2021 courses. Petitions may be submitted only after final grades are posted.
This form, which is available in the Grad Rebel Gateway, will be accepted starting on Wednesday, May 19. Spring 2021 S/U requests must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.
Learn more on the Graduate College COVID-19 updates webpage.
- WebCampus Change for Graduate Assistants: On Saturday, May 15, the primary email address for graduate assistants changed to their UNLVMail (@unlv.edu) address instead of their Rebelmail email address for all communications to and from WebCampus. The change is being made to help facilitate important third-party integrations in WebCampus, such as Webex, for teachers and instructors.
Users may add their RebelMail as a secondary email in WebCampus or forward messages to their RebelMail account from their UNLVMail account if they'd like. This change only applies to the primary email address in WebCampus and does not apply to other campus technologies.
If you have any questions, please contact the IT Help Desk.
As always, please reach out to the Graduate College team if we can be of any assistance.
Take care and be well,
|
