Through April 15: Free Tax Preparation Services for UNLV Community
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which is certified by the IRS and provided by the Lee Business School's department of accounting, will offer free tax preparation services through April 15 for UNLV students, faculty, staff, and their families with an annual household income of $57,000 or less. The year-round UNLV Food Pantry provides perishable and non-perishable items to university students, staff, and faculty who need additional food. The pantry is located at 4646 S. University Center Drive at the intersection of South University Center Drive and East Naples Drive and open the following hours:

UNLV Writing Center Workshops

The student health insurance waiver period for graduate and professional students for the spring 2021 semester will close on Feb. 26. Students who already completed a waiver for the 2020-21 academic year do not need to complete another waiver. This waiver period is only for students who: were enrolled in courses during the fall 2020 semester but did not complete a waiver and would like to waive out of the student health insurance for the spring/summer 2021 semester, or were not enrolled in courses during the fall 2020 semester but are enrolling in courses in the spring 2021 semester and would like to waive out of the student health insurance for the spring/summer 2021
semester. Waivers completed in previous academic years will not carry over. If students do not complete a new waiver for the spring 2021 semester, the charge will remain on their account and they will be enrolled in the student health insurance. Feb. 27: Call for Nominations: Office of Community Engagement 2021 Awards
The UNLV Office of Community Engagement seeks to support, facilitate, and promote collaboration, partnership, and engagement between the university and its many communities.
In support of its mission, the Office is calling for faculty, staff, and student nominations for awards that recognize campus individuals for their exceptional community engagement in the areas of: 1) service learning, 2) community-based research, 3) faculty/staff community outreach activity, and 4) student service.
Self-nominations are accepted. As part of the application process, two letters of recommendation are required - one from a faculty or staff member from the campus community and one from the primary community partner involved with the community engagement activity.
