This workshop will focus on techniques for finding local data from numerous sources including government, open access, and UNLV Libraries' licensed databases.
Participants will identify different text analysis methods (i.e. close and distant reading, networks, and frequencies), utilize the different tools provided by Voyant to analyze sample text, and brainstorm ways text analysis can be used in their own research projects.

Ambassadors are highly visible members of the Graduate College team helping to build a strong graduate student Rebel community and strengthen ties between the Graduate College, alumni, and community members by participating in on- and off-campus events.
RAMP pairs undergraduate and graduate students -- who are overseen by a faculty mentor -- on research/scholarly/creative projects to provide them with the opportunity to learn from one another and gain valuable skills. Cocurricular Certifications
The Graduate College offers three yearlong cocurricular certifications in the areas of research, teaching, and mentorship.
The Grad Rebel Writing Boot Camp assists students working on major writing pieces, including theses, dissertations, and publications. The summer Grad Rebel Writing Boot Camp session will take place Aug. 9-13.
June 18: 2021-22 AAHHE Graduate Student Fellows Program Application
The American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education invites nominations for its 2021-22 AAHHE Graduate Students Fellows Program. The AAHHE Graduate Student Fellows Program's (GSFP) is a six-month program with a primary goal to prepare Latina/o/x doctoral scholars for successful careers in academia and also scholars interested in pursuing careers within administration and policy in post-secondary education. To be considered, applicants must be a Latina/o/x and/or Hispanic enrolled in a doctoral program, aspire to enter post-secondary professoriate and/or administration, and exhibit a track record of service to the Latina/o/x and/or Hispanic community. Applications
are due by 5 p.m. PST on June 18.

April 13: Thrive in Y(our) Story: Writing Workshop
The UNLV CARE Center is hosting this two-hour writing workshop in which attendees will give language to the stories living in their bodies through somatic exercises, read other writers' work, complete prompted writing exercises, and give an opportunity to those who would like to share their writing. The UNLV Care Center encourages those struggling to write, those struggling to make sense of the trauma they have experienced, those who feel disconnected from their body, those who want to dive more deeply into the stories they are holding, and those who want to start or attempt a writing practice to attend.
