INTERACTIONS
WITH PROFESSORS

Brad Isler

Biotechnology Professor

“I think what makes Ferris great is small class sizes,” says Brad Isler, a Biotechnology professor and program coordinator. Being that the class sizes aren’t so large, Brad has the opportunity to connect with students on a one-on-one basis.

“There’s a great community of students,” he adds. It’s bonds like this at Ferris that help students not only learn from a book, but from each other, their professors, and a the community around them.

Nathan Reeder

Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology Student

Professor Interaction 1

Working with electronics. Testing computer networks. Chatting with professors. This is what a typical day at Ferris looks like for Nathan. Instead of learning from a textbook, Nathan learns by using industry-specific equipment – while always having a professor nearby to help, support, or answer questions.

In his time at Ferris, Nathan has had the benefit of solving problems, not simply completing assignments, while having knowledgeable instructors close at hand.

Hayley Bunschoten

Graphic Design Student

Professor Interaction 4

Ever since her first year at Ferris State University, Hayley’s graphic design skills have evolved in a major way. There have been many reasons, one of them being the one-on-one attention she gets from her professors.

Whether looking on screen or on paper, Hayley appreciates the personal critique she gets. “I’ll take any feedback I can get,” she says. With an interest in user experience design and brand development, Hayley aspires to design at Concept A, a studio in Spring Lake, MI. One day at a time, her professor’s are helping her get there.

Evan Dulac

Television and Digital Media Production Student

Professor Interaction 3

A career in TV and Media has been up close and personal for Evan. That’s because, at Ferris, he’s been able to learn the ins and outs of broadcast production, working hand-in-hand with his professors. His favorite part is running the camera – one very similar to the kind professionals use on the job.

When he has questions, he’s able to work directly with professors who have been there and done that, helping Evan achieve real understanding in a real-world setting.
